    Colt 1911 from 1917

Just before Christmas, LGS brought in this nice 1917 made Colt 1911. Rare bird here in Switzerland, so much so that he’s keeping it for himself and won’t sell it to me

I will keep pestering him a bit but I have little hope

Very nice! I'm jealous. I need to add a WWI-era 1911 to my collection at some point.
It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.

Pretty cool. I always like to joke about customizing these guns with a bunch of modern nonsense.

Interesting, I think every example I've ever seen is Property marked on the right side of the frame.

Original two tone lanyard magazine is really impressive.

    Those would be the A1

It seems it’s not the original magazine but a commercial one

    Now I have to look.

Interesting about the magazine. Didn't know anyone made a commercial mag with a lanyard loop.

Very cool OP, it looks to be in great condition! Is 45 acp ammunition readily available over there?

It's neat to see those old war horses in their original prime, and then some later in time special forces reworked models.

Yes, no problem to find .45 ACP

Maybe people are forced into it after only being allowed to shoot these one handed and standing sideways
