    Springfield's "Hellion" bullpup

AKA the Croatian VHS-2. Looks like the bullpup fanciers will have another option:

That came up in a Tavor group on FB. Can't say I'm overly impressed by how it looks, but it'll be interesting to see how it compares to other bullpups in the market.
It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.

Watching this now, the gun guy in me wants one just to have it, the practical guy in me wishes it wasn't from Springfield and the MSRP is too much

Only two things wrong with the idea. SPRINGFIELD and BULLPUP.

The good thing I guess, is it's just imported through Springfield and rollmarked Hellion. It's still a pure semi HS VH-2.

Springfield has to bring these in with a CA-compliant type pistol grip and a weird 5 round magazine to comply with the "sporting purposes" clause of the 89 import ban. They obviously fix this stuff before sending them to retailers.

The handguard is also US-made, and of course the PMAG is as well for 922(r) purposes.

Can’t say I’m a fan of the name, it appears they’ve gone full Mossberg on that aspect.

I like bull pups, so it should be interesting if I can get past the name.

No kidding, right? Springfield could have kept the cringe to a minimum and just called it the VHS-2S or something, but no, Springfield’s gotta go all Springfield and saddle “their” neat new rifle with a dumb name. Makes me wonder what else they screwed up.

I guess the had to change it to avoid “Betamax” jokes but Hellion sounds like something an 11 year old would select.

Still<,I will get one once they float down to $1800. It’s too interesting a piece of military technology for me to pass on.
