Well, many of us EXPECTED some new plague to drop when C19 ran out of steam... and this one's repeating the start of the C19 outbreak By The Numbers.

That was my concern when I read the article. How it spreads is probably just as (if not more than) important than the disease itself. In it's current existence the filoviruses need bodily fluid contact, which is considerably easier to "contain" than if it's airborne. Wouldn't want a drop of a pt's sweat hitting me though!
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but.....
think about it in gambling terms: a virus that "magically" made the jump from bats to humans ostensibly occurs in mid-to-late 2019. Probably not scientifically impossible, but highly unlikely. Now, if this most recent thing in the OP is true then that would make two diseases that have made the lottery-winning jump in such a short time. Hmmm.....it is now just about certain that COVID was made/played in the Wuhan lab. And now another even more vile disease could have been engineered, and I do not put it past those sumbitches.

F**k China!
The paper describing MLAV being primarily a bat-borne disease was published in 2019-01-07: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41564-018-0328-y
Bats are the primary suspect in being the natural reservoir for Ebola, too, as is the case with Marburg. So not sure what's so suspect about all that.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Booger eaters have been manipulating respiratory and pox bugs for decades; they are not difficult on a bench lab. Filoviruses and hemorrhagic fever bugs are much harder to weaponize. In fact, thus far no one has been able to. The bugs destabilize way too fast.
SARS/coronavirus jumping from bats to people isn't new. I posted an article on this forum from the early 2000s recognizing that bats as a vector was highly likely, and in Wuhan no less.
ALL of that said, I have zero doubt that evil-doers (here's looking at you North Korea and Iran) are doing everything they can to earnestly create super-nasties in the lab and weaponize them.
So maybe this time we suspend international travel and institute quarantine sites rather than lock down entire economies.

And so is China. I'm just not 100% certain they nuked themselves in order to try and nuke us.
It is possible that poor security protocols led to an unintentional release of a modified C19 virus which I find most likely. But then again maybe this was their economical social security solution to a large population of elderly people who could no longer contribute to the state. China is certainly capable of that kind of savagery, but I'm not certain they had a way to protect elderly "important people" so I'm not completely buying into it.

To be fair, the first two cases of Ebola that were "imported" into the US were American aid workers who were tending to Ebola victims in Sierra Leone, and were with Samaritan's Purse at the time. Kent Brantly, one of the aid workers, wrote a book titled "Called For Life," and it really is quite a good read. They landed in Atanta on a plane that had been converted to transport patients who were infected with highly contagious viruses, and he exited the plane wearing a full HAZMAT suit before eventually being taken to a hospital in Atlanta to receive two more doses of an experimental Ebola treatment that ultimately saved his life.
Huh... so that's why they've been freaking out disinfecting everything over there again.
Well, nothing to fear here folks, I'm sure any day they will announce all is well, totally under control and the Olympics can proceed as planned....
Then next thing you know, a bunch of people returning to home countries will explode with a new virus. SUUUUUPER convenient, eh....
