    We basically only use GPS as an update to the inertial reference unless we are flying GPS or RNP approaches... So even with a GPS outage we could still operate. I think the IRS is considered within acceptable tolerances for 18 hours in between updates. Obviously you are losing some precision, but not to much.
    Plenty of places OCONUS that still use NDBs or base a missed approach on a NDB fix.
    We are supposed to monitor the raw data when we do a RNAV (NDB) overlay but I really think most don't.
    Been hearing VORs are going away for 20+ yrs.

    GPS Jamming still happens outside of the US to. Leaving TLV you will most likely loose GPS for about 30 mins.



    I would be more concerned on why a primary training flight is being canceled because of a GPS outage.
