Was laid off from a good job in my mid-twenties because people who had been threatening to retire never left. The company offered retirement bonuses but the old guys didn't need money. They needed purpose and the only social club they had known for the past several decades.

All generations have stereotypes and annoyances but I can say that the Boomer generation definitely caused the most heartache when I was providing for a young family.

It pissed me off to such a degree that I turned down returning when they did finally leave a few years later.

I plan to never put a young guy in that situation.
