Ukraine/Russia use both and evidently Ukraine has enough of the 7.62s to justify the shipments. Or perhaps manufacturers are so damn stupid they're donating unusable ammunition.

Cool. Most ammo hasn't been hard to find for me recently (I swear, we've got enough 5.56 and .308 at work to refight Fallujah), so I don't mind at all it going to a good cause.

I've seen both. Even if 7.62x39 is a secondary use caliber, it means those weapons won't be short of ammo for a while, and any domestic or other international orders can focus on 5.45 or 7.62x54r. Who knows, I've seen more than a few ARs being used by some Ukrainian SOF dudes, so maybe they'll need 5.56?
It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.

    According to this, all 5.56

From what I can tell, Ammo Inc. doesn't make 5
    .45x39, 7.62x39, 9x18, or 7.62x54R.

Somewhat surprising there is much of a need with all the Russian dead and captured.

Interesting. This news report specifically IDs the ammo as being 7.62x39.

Interesting that their example round was a ballistic tip. Betting that's a mistake on Fox's part, but it would be interesting if the Ukrainians simply said "ah, hell with it" and started using non-FMJ ammo.
