ETA: Here's SOTAR's physical of the PSA Microbest BCG

I’ve had good luck with AO Precision in the past, I wouldn’t hesitate to run another one.

To make your decision harder, consider the DLC Toolcraft with 158 for $110 at WC Armory

Novekse for $150. Maybe not the absolute best deal but Noveske anything at that price seemed like a no brainer. I have one as a spare.

Same here. All of mine grew up to be spare uppers or spare carbines.

(Not my spare bolts thought - Pretty sure those need a complete carrier before they can start 'growing')

That's a great question, and I'm not sure. My only point of data was two sets of worn gas rings (2 completely split into four pieces, the last one worn down to a thin strip) that forced me to replace the carrier. A good deal on an SR-16 carrier popped up on ARFCOM and it was used to replace the AO. No issues in the last several thousand rounds.

Sounds like OOS tight to me. I have a couple Sionics carriers that are in spec tight and are not destroying gas rings as you describe.

If you have PIN gauges try dropping a .498 through it. If it won’t pass it is OOS tight.

Did you try to contact them to get them replaced?

Yes, and they were willing to replace the entire assembly but at that point I'd already bought the new carrier and wasn't worried about it. RTB are good folks and I've bought from them a few times since then.
