    Waffenfabrik Bern K31

I’ve had some Swiss military pull rifles like everyone here in Switzerland, they are plentiful in the attics, basements, gun shops and shows. Didn’t keep them. However while roaming at the LGS before Christmas, I saw he had a whole batch that just came in.

So I chose the nicest K31 with diopter competition sights, which are allowed in military style competitions. That one is a keeper.

Wikipedia has a good page about this model

Made in 1940, $ 600, the sights cost slightly more than the rifle.

The cutouts on the foreguard are asymmetrical, left forward for the thumb and right rearward for the four fingers

Looking forward to try it out at the 300 m range

Very nice. I'd like to pick up a diopter version. I'm thinking I couldn't afford one today. My K31 is fitted with the Swiss left hand op rod.

The Art of the Rifle is lost on most people now days.
Bolt action rifles with diopter sights that are capable of MOA accuracy @ 100-1000
yards are very collectable but very few people actually try to master them.
It is just an undeniable fact, we are not a Nation of Riflemen anymore.
