Wouldn't call it proof or anything but somewhere on an old harddrive I've got a whole lot of reference photos of various HK's including a HK51 that were taken by a UK SO-19 armourer and sent to me. Used for making 3d models of weapons for a multitude of computer games and also the VBS1 simulator.
He had access to their whole current armory, guns handed in for storage while various UK units cross trained aswell as their reference collection of arms. Plus the odd bits of kit they got in for testing.

Also had an SOF (from memory 5th SFG) guy that used to contribute reference photos, sent me a whole heap of SCAR (L, H and the 40mm attachment) photos from back when they were going through testing. Plus a whole heap of shots of kitted out AR variants.

It took a bit longer than anticipated, as I ended up buying four FA rifles and arranged all the paperwork / permits and funds in one go (others were the already shown HK 33, M2 carbine and M14 rifle).

    But its finally home

It came with three mags, the 20 rds being as old as the gun

    Barrel is marked IB_X

Can’t wait to try it out

I will say from working for British companies in IT. I signed 3 NDA agreements before getting project work that was part of my daily job as a Network Engineer.

The British are tight-lipped. I’ll also say, I don’t have reason to doubt Fleming’s involvement. Congratulations on the purchase!

Last thing - perhaps Fleming knew his work for the British if he ever wanted more was contingent on keeping his mouth shut.

Also, who knows the terms of the NDA. This was during the Cold War. He may have had multiple reasons to keep his mouth shut. Professional, personal, or legal.

OLIAR15, Given that the US dollar is strong versus the Swiss Franc, Euro and GB Pound, I've decided to plan my next vacation to Europe. Where exactly to do live?

If my IS and PB accounts didn't get wiped out 10 years ago I could have shared a lot of 51 and 51B pics.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.
