    SUREFIRE CUSTOMER SERVICE...

....has ALWAYS been right on par with their product. In a word, stellar.

However, I'd like to share the following.

My dear sister was given an E2D Defender last year for Christmas and somehow the tailcap went bad. It failed to ignite the light anymore.

After two requests, Greg Lin in Tech Support advised that he was sending us a brand new replacement cap.

I don't have to deal with the hassle of packing and sending back the defective one, placing phone calls, tracking it, etc.

    BOOM.

    New one on the way.

    There's a reason I only buy Surefire.

Yup. Had the same thing happen to an E2D of mine, and one of a coworker. Both were resolved with lightning fast shipment of a replacement.

Many of the Surefire "clicky" caps have issues. I bring one or two non-functional lights with me to SHOT each year and get news caps or new lights as replacements. The fact that they have boxes of spare "clicky" caps at SHOT is in and of itself rather telling.

    huh....interesting.

that's not a particularly good thing.

however, it's a testament to their dedication to their customers.

Mr Green is right on the money.
Our latest revisions are MUCH better than the older ones, and will hold up much better to constant clicking. The problem was with the white plastic insert, which has been revised several times.

Back in 2005-06 when I was in Bahrain I had a 6P that accidentally went off during a boarding. Needless to say it burned through lense. I contacted Surefire CS and they sent one out no questions asked. I also had a tailcap go tits up as well and again they took care of it.

My one and only complaint was the tail switch that I had for my Scoutlight. It crapped out and the CS rep said that Surefire didn't cover those so I had to buy a new one. It took me about 6 months to get one.

You spoke to the wrong rep...
An E2E or E2D tailcap will function fine on your ScoutLight, and that ScoutLight tailcap is covered under warranty if it craps out early on ya.
