    This thread is going to send a bunch of guys into a "tail" spin.... measuring every bolt in their collection.

    If this applies to you, use a micrometer, not calipers.

    Noted. Although in 30 years on the platform, I've never had to check that measurement.

    Either gauges like the ones you pictured or snap gauges.
