    Agree with esteemed colleague above. AHA BLS is best first stop. You want 'heart saver', not 'BLS for healthcare professionals'. There is a difference. ARC is also good to go.

    STB and basic first aid would be next. And that's really all you and your son need.

    Late to game on this thread, but I would highly recommend taking a class like previously mentioned with AHA. The American Heart Association has a Heart Saver / First Aid class. It runs through CPR and a list of medical and trauma stuff. If you can find a good training site that provide hands on, that would be the best bang for your buck.
