    New Build Completed Tonight

Put the finishing touches on my latest rifle tonight.

    - Ballistic Advantage 18" .223 Wylde SPR Stainless Steel Rifle Length AR 15 Barrel w/ Ops 12, Premium Black Series
    - Sionics BCG
    - Wilson Combat Forged Upper / Lower
    - VLTOR A5 RE-7 Spring A2 Buffer
    - MI 17" Combat Rail One Piece Free Float Handguard, M-LOK
    - Wilson Combat LPK
    - Wilson Combat UPK
    - Primary Arms SLx 1-8x24FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS-RAPTOR-5.56/5.45/.308
    - MI 30MM High QD Scope Mount with 1.4-in Offset
    - HK Battle Grip w/storage
    - Radian Raptor LT CH
    - G-Trigger SSA-E

I am a little disappointed with the Primary Arms scope, mainly with the eye-box. I have a lot of scopes, but none with an eyebox as tight as this one. But for the $ I suppose I can't complain as there had to be compromises. You can tell by how far I had to move the scope back how poor the eye releif is on the rifle.

The glass is good, not great.

I really like the installation and ergo's of the MI rails, they provide a wrench with every rail as well as a small portion of polymer PIC rail that I use to attach my HK brass catcher when at the range.

The BA barrel didn't come dimpled so I dimpled myself fairly easily. I really wish BA would dimple their barrels, otherwise I"m completely satisfied with them.

We'll see how it shoots on Saturday.

Very nice. Hope you’re treating it to some 69/77 gr. OTM to see what it is capable of.

Sighted it in today, fed and functioned flawlessly. No malfs, locked back every time on an empty mag.

Indoor only has 50 yards max, so wasn’t shooting for accuracy. Solid group of 20 at 50 yards regardless. Ammo was 77gr SMK hand loads using BLC-2 powder.

The eye box on the scope is usable. Just have to scootch up the stock a bit while increasing magnification.

Overall very pleased with the results.

I don’t care much about groups, but you’ve built the the two most important things— Flawless functionality and ability to hit a target on demand. Quality parts and skill. For extra goodness it’s also beautiful. This is a great project and great to see. Thank you!

Nice build! I have the same primary arms scope on one of my rifles and have the same issues you are experiencing. Had to slide it back on mine as well.

Again nice build, glad to hear function was flawless!

Nice looking build, it appears to be accurate as well.

What’s the deal with the hand guard being notched out at the front of the left side? I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that before…
