This is last years black bear. The mount turned out amazing.
I killed this one with a Winchester 1892 in 357 mag. An Underwood 158gr JSP. Out of the 24" barrel it was just over 2000fps. He was DRT.

Be of good cheer, you men of Valor.
That's an awesome mount! How big was the bear? 2000fps .357 is screaming, definitely enough to do the trick.

He was estimated just a smidge over 300 "live weight" but had a long body. He was 6'-6" long.

No way my old lady lets that in our house!
Nice mount and bear. I have bear hunted in years and should get into the tag drawing again.
Its in my "man cave". My wife would come unglued if I hung it up where she had to look at it.

Well done!
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.
Nice! How was the meat? I never tried bear.
Fall bear meat tends to be greasy so we just turn it all into burger and sausage
Be of good cheer, you men of Valor.
