I just compared the stock HMR to an 8 year old Timney 510 and a 20+ year old stock (with pull weight set to a little under 4 lbs) Rem 700 . The stock HMR definitely leaves a lot to be desired from a weight consistency perspective. The old stock 700 trigger is still shockingly good, and a bit better than my other stock 700 trigger (unknown age).

I didn't realize how much overtravel the HMR has until I went from it straight to the Timney.

Once I start shooting bolt guns regularly again, the HMR's trigger will end up in my box of parts.

I've never heard a bad comment on TriggerTech's offerings, so I'll probably try a Special.

I love My APR Maverick. So much so that I have Alamo building another rifle for me.

BTW I really like the Trigger Tech Special trigger on my APR. I ordered one for another rifle I have.

You should enjoy using it. Mine arrived today, and it's a dramatic improvement over stock. I've currently got it set it a hair under 3 lbs (it's impressively consistent), but might change it to 2.5.

I'm not convinced that it's better than the Timney 510 in an AAC-SD, but it might be more consistent. It does have more over travel than the Timney (which barely moves), which I suppose could be a result of it being in a Bergara instead of a Remington.

Pappabear's trigger says for Rem 700 "Without Bolt Release". Is that ok for the Bergara?

I think so since the Bergara has the bolt release on the side of the receiver.
