Share your 9mm 147 gr subsonic subgun recipe

    So I just sprung for a B&T APC9 Pro. (5.5" barrel)

Planning to load up a bunch of 147 subsonic ammo, likely with the RMR 147 FP bullet.

Anyone have a pet recipe? Planning to run suppressed so clean is good too.

    Available powders:

    AA#2, AA#5, Win 231, Bullseye, N320, N350, Unique.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, I use other powders for 147gr subs (just because I have what I have), but with a 5.5” barrel, you should have no problems keeping 147gr under 1050fps with published loads.

    3.5 to 3.7 of n320/147 works well.
    n320 is pretty clean too.

3.4 gr HP38 which is the same as W231. 1.105" OAL. Keep an eye out for any of that "shelfed" brass. I had the 147 RMR push that shelf out due to it's length, and the rounds won't chamber.

Markm, are you referring to a "shelf" in the ID of the brass?

This is very interesting. Has anyone had problems with this brass with lighter bullets like 115? Whats the best way to sort this brass out?

Lighter, thus shorter, bullets work fine. You just have to look into the case mouths as you process the brass/reload it. You can see the shelf in there very easily.

Well this is news to me.

I've got 1k mixed 9mm brass and was only going to separate for crimped primers.

Plan was to deprime, remove crimp ring with pocket tool, then put in the "ready to load" bin.

I have coated 147 gr and lead 130 gr bullets.

Shouldn't fire them through my polygonal barrel HK so I was going to fire them from a CX4 and AP-5.

Now it sounds like I'm risking my guns with this combo of stepped-case's reloaded with 147 gr bullets.

It's not risking anything other than a stoppage. I have one sitting on my counter at home. It's just a little bulged and won't go fully into battery. AND the shelf brass easy to spot during normal brass prep and loading... you may not have any.

As far as crimped 9mm brass, I toss that in the recycle bucket if I catch it. Not worth the effort like 5.56 is.
