Share your 9mm 147 gr subsonic subgun recipe

    So I just sprung for a B&T APC9 Pro. (5.5" barrel)

Planning to load up a bunch of 147 subsonic ammo, likely with the RMR 147 FP bullet.

Anyone have a pet recipe? Planning to run suppressed so clean is good too.

    Available powders:

    AA#2, AA#5, Win 231, Bullseye, N320, N350, Unique.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, I use other powders for 147gr subs (just because I have what I have), but with a 5.5” barrel, you should have no problems keeping 147gr under 1050fps with published loads.

    3.5 to 3.7 of n320/147 works well.
    n320 is pretty clean too.

3.4 gr HP38 which is the same as W231. 1.105" OAL. Keep an eye out for any of that "shelfed" brass. I had the 147 RMR push that shelf out due to it's length, and the rounds won't chamber.

Markm, are you referring to a "shelf" in the ID of the brass?

I've noted CBC and Magtech 9mm brass with the internal shelf.
Assumed it was to prevent bullet "set back" in subgun ammo. Unless you're using the bullet and COAL the case/shelf was designed for you have a problem, usually swelled case.

Yes. What gaijin said. It's easy to keep an eye out to find them when you're loading. My 9 brass is a complete hodge podge of every headstamp under the sun.

No kidding; I counted 23 different headstamps in a batch of "range brass". Would of never bet there are so many.

No it is so the can use less powder, take up volume inside the case, same pressure with less powder.
