    Beretta 1301 bolt handle questions.

I was going to replace the polymer bolt handle on my 1301 with an aluminum one but most of the ones I am seeing for the 1301 look like this...

...but the one off my gun looks like this...

...and have that nub off to the side to lock into the bolt. I have tried the version without the side lug and it just wants to pull out.

    WTF?
Are there two version of the 1301 bolt handle?
    Am I missing something here?

I tried to figure this out last year, and never got anywhere. I'll follow along and see if anybody has answers.

You need one with the lug.

I’ve heard from several people that bolt handles without are too easy to pull out accidentally.

I kinda sorta figured that much.

I'm wondering why manufacturers are making/selling them without the lug and calling them made for a 1301. I don't get it and thought maybe there is a generational thing going on here.

The issue I was seeing at that time were the bolt handles were 2 piece and collapsed under impact.
