I've been running TAC and CCI 41s for a few years. I should chronograph some of it and see if it mirrors your results. I know last time I shot it I was happy enough with the accuracy for a bulk load.

C.O.A.L is whatever the Hornady book says to make it
    25.5gr TAC
    Hornady 55gr FMJ-BT
    CCI #41
    100yards: 2.25"
    200 yards: 6"

This is with an original 16" BRT LW Optimum bbl that has approx 6500rds through it. Scope was a Steiner P4xi in a 1.93 ADM mount, with is a little too high for shooting tight groups from prone. I was shooting 5-shot groups off the mag to confirm zero.

I don't know if there's any truth to the current production CCI primers being different or not. Or perhaps the combo of components I'm running is bad.

Lots of people all over several boards and multiple cartridges are blowing primers right not. One common thing is CCI SR primers. Regular and 41's

Do you have any other than the cci and wolf?

That's interesting. Yeah. We have Fed AR match. I think I'll do 50 Fed and 10 WOLF this weekend.

Fwiw, yesterday, I shot initial load workup with recently acquired cci 400s in a 16in 8 twist midgas BA Hanson. This time 62fmj, cci400, Shooters World AR Plus, in machine annealed LC21 brass. If you looked/felt hard enough, you could just barely fantasize primer cratering at top 2 loads (25.5 and 25.8). Air temp lo 90's.... I'd say these 400's pretty much ran fine...

I'm overdue for a batch of ammo that will run fine.

Well, I did have to replace the extractor spring just this past Friday to get the gun to run with an older batch of ammo.....

    This test blew me away:

Did NOT expect the WOLF/CCI 41 spread to be so narrow. And definitely didn't expect the AR Match primers to shoot slower than WOLF.

The Fed Match also shot a half MOA 4 round group.

WOLF vs CCI 41s with 69 gr RMR, IMR 3031 powder:

Wolf with 23.5 gr 2827 FPS

CCI with 23.0 gr 2875 FPS

Half a grain less powder with CCIs and gained almost 50 FPS.

Thanks. I’d love to see you continue this testing with whatever powder and primers you get your hands on. Lemme know if I can help.
