I don't think, at this point, it's possible to shoot a single digit SD with current CCI primers. On my H322 lot comparison, I switched back to WOLF and shot an SD of 4 with a five round test. I know SDs aren't everything, but they're a piece of the puzzle.

How are the federal primers shooting for you? What kind of SD?

In the 85gr match burners they shot 17-19, but had the best group I've shot. Only when I switch back to good old WOLF and H322 am I seeing good SDs.

I think h322 is sensitive to primers. My tac load gives consistent velocities. H322 is all over the place. 41s are showing es of about 100fps, 400s show es of 200 providing the fastest and slowest shots.

I juiced up the 322 load to 22.2gr and well see what happens.

I boosted the cci400 load by .2gr and was still 50fps slower than the 41 load.

Could be a stick vs ball powder thing. But yeah. My TAC spreads are much less dramatic. And H322 is a faster powder. It could be the burn rate that increases sensitivity to ignition.

I think i was too close to the chrono and too light.
Im getting flatted primer but think i bored out the primer pockets (still a newb and learning).

    22.2gr H322 w/cci41: sample size: 17 shots
    14.5" bbl
    Avg 2586
    ES 65
    SD 17.9

I had one shot at 2250, but think that was a chrono failure so I threw it out.

I may have missed it, but what bullets were you using?

High ES can come from low loading density. H322 reacts like RL10. There is a very small window of a safe load then going extreme overload. The pressures get out of control in a small window. Thats why I stay away from powders like this. I like a powder that fills the case.
