Accurate shooter has some mentions of this several months ago. My issues were pressure spikes and popped primers, but when I was poking around that forum, I did read posts where guys were asking about new 450s/41s not firing.

Are you sure those are CCI 41 primers? All of mine are a gold foil not red?I continue to see SDs in the 30s and 40s with the CCI41s. Here's a CCI 41 that didn't fire:

We continue to get pathetic SDs with these... 35 to 45 is about normal. And this is with good metering ball powders. My loading process is a little tedious, so I expect to linger around 10 fps... no more than 15.
BUT.. we did shoot a one off load yesterday that got down to 19. Some nice 55 gr soft points (Nosler, I think) with some Benchmark I overpaid for. A nice 3100 fps (20 in bbl) with a 19 SD.

Are the primers sealed/branded in such a way as to make tampering difficult?

New production 41s? I'm telling you... I can't get ball or stick to calm down with these things. The Benchmark load was a freak of nature where I got the SDs down to 19.

Those are not cci 41 primers. Unless they changed the color of the foil. I just went and looked again to make sure what mine are. They are a gold brass color. Only red foils i have are the Bosnian primers.

I going to do a head to head 10 round test on the CCI 41s against Federal AR Match to see if the God awful SDs really belong to the CCI primers.
(I would even entertain the idea of bad chrono readings if it weren't for the fact that I test a lot of loads, and get reasonable SDs on other ammo)
