Good question, and I suspect you're referring to general government incompetence, ineptitude, and malfeasance. I actually hope that turns out to be the case, but something about this just ain't right.....kind of has a sinister taste to it.

Also, being under Homeland Security (thanks GWB) makes it practically untouchable. Will be interesting to see if this Stasi organization will have it's own armed "enforcement" entity, kind of like all those obscure Federal agencies who have SWAT teams: Dept. of Education, National Institute of Health SRT, Dept. of HHS, Amtrak SOU (yes, if you can believe that one), etc. Agencies you'd be like "WTF does this department need a tactical team for?"

When the Left is in charge, they do anything they want. When the Right is in charge, they don’t repeal ANYTHING the Left put into place, the Left still gets most everything they want (in the spirit of bipartisanship of course), and they pick up exactly where they left off when they get control back again.

They only losers in this whole deal is the American people.
You are 100% correct. The "Right" has no balls whatsoever. Despite the fact that they are supposed to represent conservatives (small "c") they sure as hell walk the centrist line don't they?

This is why I think it's a good idea for people to start switching over to reinforced concrete homes and to restore the prestige of the militia. If you have the money to create underground networks of concrete tunnels on your farm/homestead then why not?

    See? It’s a two-way street.
It's hard for me to take someone serious who still wants to practice alchemy. Feel free not to waste your time on me. I'll just disappoint you.

Has anyone here made a single call to anyone to object to this?

Figured not, which is why it continues.

Fair enough, I will Monday; I have a Democrap Rep (for now, until our new redistricting takes effect for November) but two Republican Senators. I assume you will too, right? That said, do you really think it would make a difference?

I don't know the finer intricacies of government but my understanding is that with it being under DHS that blocking/canking the whole thing is kind of limited (?).

Yup. Inoculation by Preemptive Accusation is a Lefty tactic going back to their foundation.
