I have a KCIMS KCIMS System-14mm ready to take to an AK builder. I already have one on a VZ 58, and while I like it, before I go down the road of several hundred on a pinned and welded device, I need to understand alternatives.
The Krebs comes in a base flash hider, and 'compensator'. I don't find much difference between to two in terms of recoil, but the VZ 58 is pretty snappy. Krebs JUST started selling a shorter brake to put over top of the base unit, and that is on the way - if it tames the 58, I might be satisfied. There is also a cover that supposedly serves as a linear device. So, that is at least 3 devices in one.
Are there other systems that do 2-3 functions like this?
Then there is suppressor possibilities. There is only one can to fit the Krebs and they are pretty low inventory - and require a $200 adapter. [And you really don't know till you get the can if it all lines up...] Again, if there are OTHER good systems out there that can be a good FH and brake and also attach a can, I'd like to see them. Thanks.
