    Legal Open Carry in cities

    I don't like it.

I think its biggest accomplishment is allowing communists and anarchists to block roads and threaten drivers with rifles and shotguns.

Tell me why you think I have the right to stand, even to the side, at a busy intersection with a rifle in my hands screaming political rants at people.

Because I don't think I do, nor anyone else. I think I do have the right to travel without openly armed people yelling their politics at me during my commute.

And you know when commies do this they don't just "have" them. They point, brandish, threaten, and menace.

I'm all for permitless concealed carry and open carry in rural environments. But not open carry in cities.

I'm open to learn and change my mind.

I'm curious about other opinions on this board.

Doing any of the above is illegal and not protected by the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment is not an excuse to intimidate fellow citizens. It's a protection against government over reach.

As far as you, I, or anyone else not liking open carry inside city limits goes: tough shit. As outlined by DC vs Heller, my rights don't stop at the city limits sign. Rights are not defined by feelings. If they were then we wouldn't have any rights.

The Laws against "brandishing/menacing" need to be Strictly enforced, and prosecuted. That's the only way "Open Carry" makes any sense.
I realize that's a fukking Pipe Dream in Leftist locales.

Open Carry has a place in my view (Rural/Ranch/Farm), but NOT in the scenario you refer to.

I’m sure it varies state to state, but in PA the only way to open carry in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh is if you have a LTCF (concealed carry permit). So depending on what state you’re seeing this, and their laws pertaining to it, some of these people may be breaking the law.

The solution is simple and doesn't require neutering yourself:

    Defeat the commies.

Remove the Marxist Leninist brainwashing from schools. It takes 10-20 years for a new generation of patriots to replace the half baked intellectuals currently in potions of power.

A 2004 poll found that among sociology professors, 25 percent self-identified as "Marxist,” 49 percent identified as Democrats, and 5 percent as Republicans. It’s not just sociology – in social sciences broadly, more professors identified as Marxist than as conservative.

University campuses have always leaned a little left. But in the 1990s, as the previous generation of academics was replaced by baby boomers, they began to lean dramatically left. The humanities and social sciences were colonized by an unholy alliance of poststructuralists and Marxists – people who believe that Western civilization is a corrupt patriarchy that must be dismantled.

I’ve known since I was a teenager that some public school social studies teachers seem to lean toward Marxism. I came home one day from Grade 8 social studies class telling my parents that my teacher thought the Soviet Union was just terrific. My dad had a different view. He didn’t think much of the fact that Joseph Stalin had starved 10 million people, mostly Ukrainians

A hundred years later, the communist thoughts that inspired Lenin to rebel against the Russian monarchs and aristocrats, still exist in Canadian universities.

You never want to take away someone's legitimate right because someone else or everyone else abused that right. That's unjust. Utilitarianism is for tyrants.

Freedom means people get to do things you do not like. What you quoted though is illegal in every state I know of.

    I'm all for the rights.

Get you a small audio video camera. If they point it at you or threaten you. Defend yourself if necessary. If you don't have to use deadly force. Report them and give a copy of the evidence to the police. Follow up daily on charges.
