Passenger lands plane when pilot incapacitated.

OMG! Keeping calm is what saved his life. A panicky type would've died.

To call that impressive is an understatement.
Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succor of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till.

Even calm as hell that can go bad, luck and some kind of natural ability seem to play. Glad to hear of an instance where it came out good. That shit is like surviving your first gun fight when you didn't know there was going to be a gun fight.

ETA: That is hardly the worst landing I've ever seen either. I was waiting for this guy to come bouncing in or slam it on the deck hard.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

No mention of why the pilot was incapacitated?

Not yet. They took him to a hospital.

If I was the guy who landed that plane my first question to the people who got there would've been "Does this airport have a bar?"

Food poisoning from fish. Plus, the autopilot was deflated.

    I literally LOL'd.

I had flying lessons when I was a teen, got as far as soloing. That was...36 years ago. I wonder if I could have done that.

You took lessons about the same time I did. I had a great CFI. I took off and landed on my very first flight with a total of 0 and 20 minutes of flight time. It's a lot easier when a dude is sitting right next to you and giving great instructions, but it has to be extremely tough to do it over the radio.
