“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ― George Orwell, 1984

Well ... here goes some more "reports" from that horrible day. Some said that parents piling up outside begged, screamed for the police to go in, while they waited outside for 40 minutes to an hour. Another "story" of indecision and confusion.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.
"The gunman wasn’t killed for the better part of an hour until a Border Patrol team tactical unit arrived and shot him. Border Patrol agents were in the area because Uvalde is near the Mexican border."
WTF? I'd really thought the SOP for virtually every PD today was to engage an active shooter immediately.

“Those who do not view armed self defense as a basic human right, ignore the mass graves of those who died on their knees at the hands of tyrants.”
Fox just interviewed the Border patrol chief and covered some of the detail about what happened.
Some things mentioned:
- dozens of agents responded, some of which were off duty
- no eyes in the room, and they had difficulty breaking a window to gain entry from outside
- the officers are trained regularly in active shooter response.
- a stack entered via the classroom door with the first officer carrying the shield and the others immediately behind him providing cover
- they rushed the lowlife and took him out.
Other tidbits from Fox Lawrence Jones who is onsite:
- officers immediately gave aid and were able to save some kids. And some they weren't.
- one of the sheriff officers had a child in the classroom who ultimately died
- one of the first border patrol agents on site suffered a grazing wound to the scalp. You can see the bullet trail through his hat
- the low life wrecked his truck right next to the school.
- the SRO went out to the wreck and apparently exchanged gunfire with the low life and was injured
2 unarmed teachers died confronting the POS in TX. What if they were armed & trained to to stop an active shooter?
“Data studied by the Purdue Homeland Security Institute shows that shooters average three victims per minute. The average police response time is at least 10 minutes. Institute director Eric Dietz says it’s almost impossible to speed response time, but adding locks to doors and having a couple of armed employees on campus can effectively reduce response time and casualties.”
Trust the science. Dr Dietz research linked below shows that having 5-10% of school staff armed is the most effective method for reducing casualties during an active shooter.
As part of the response to 9/11 the Federal government sought to prevent commercial aircraft from being used as weapons of mass destruction. In order to create defense in depth and supplement the Federal Air Marshalls DHS started the FFDO program. The Federal Flight Deck Officer Program authorizes flight crew members to use firearms to defend against an act of criminal violence and air piracy while attempting to gain control of an aircraft.
Additionally, individuals must pass a bi-annual firearms requalification. All eligible flight crew members will attend a one week training in Artesia, New Mexico. There is no fee to participate in the Federal Flight Deck Officer program. Training and equipment costs are covered by TSA. FFDOs are all unpaid volunteers and fully sworn LEOs, but have no jurisdiction outside of the cockpit.
Why don’t we have a similar program for teachers and staff nation wide? Maybe not a Federal position, but how about make volunteers local reserve deputies? Having armed and trained staff could to have at least reduced the death toll if not prevented any deaths (other than the POS) all together.

Very few teachers actually want to be armed or trained. Yes there were some who have the heart and personality for it, but the vast majority ha e no desire nor will to use a firearm. My point is the concept of arming/training teachers is a noble one but there will only be a small percentage that are interested and even fewer that are capable.

I have seen multiple grumblings online and while flipping through the news stating this and another recent shooting (cant remember which one) are proof that "a good guy with a gun" cant stop a mass shooter. Therefore the answer is to just get rid of all guns.
ETA: getting rid of guns is the answer being proposed by those complaining, not mine.
