Because we are living in a selfish society for the most part...but there are still those that put others over self....that BORTAC is one of them...

Even if one could snap their fingers and get rid of ALL guns, it still won't eliminate the crazy (for lack of a better term) mass murderer problem.

Bath School Massacre. 38 kids and 5 adults killed in 1927. One shot was fired...at the end...and several months (I believe) of tunneling previously while planting dynamite under the school. It's hard to stop a determined individual that's crazy. Determined, crazy, smart, and patient is even worse.

After all, if someone isn't stable/trustworthy/sane/whatever to own a gun, would you trust them with a car, gasoline, matches, etc?

According to a lot of the talking heads there is no way an 18 year old should be able to buy an AR, because you aren't mentally mature enough. These same talking heads were advocating for 16 year olds to vote after Parkland, because they are so mentally mature. (And the 16-17 year olds were screaming for stricter gun laws of course.) Without double standards, they wouldn't have any standards.

Actually he worked at the school and simply stockpiled the basement with dynamite over time. His motivation was because he had been defeated in an election.

So from what I gather, IF, the reports are true, these "brave Texas lawmen" where nothing but cowardly scumbags just like the broward county cunts who did not engage in Parkland. Did the local LE really arrest/ subdue parents wanting to go in to search for/ protect their children ? Apparently all the training/equipment in the world is phucking useless if LE doesn't have the balls to actively search for, engage, and kill active shooters.

They all gotta go, they are no longer worthy of being cops, every single one of them needs to be fired and blacklisted from ever serving in any capacity of public trust ever again.

Unbelievable. I remember our training officer telling us that the “going home at the end of your shift is the most important thing” is utter bullsh*t. The order of whose lives are most important are 1. The victims/hostages, 2. You, the officer and a very distant 3. The suspect. Being off the job since 2004 I can’t speak to current mindset among LEOs and the officers I worked with have either retired or been in an admin job for a while so I don’t have any inroads either.

"Going home at the end of the shift" is the mantra of why you train hard and must never be complacent. It also means don't be stupid and reckless and act like you're Chuck Norris or Arnold Schwarzenegger. Cops do not need to seek death needlessly. However, part of the job is putting your life on the line. That means running towards danger in order to save others even if it costs your life.

I think most cops know this; unfortunately, right now, there's two kinds of police officer that is causing a LOT of damage to law enforcement: The hard charging knuckleheads whose answer to everything is either "slam them on the pavement" or "shoot them", and the mild mannered community policers who want to make a difference but can't truly face danger.
