Scroll to the bottom for what I believe is the most detailed and relevant analysis yet. Its very straight forward but as you might expect, there are difficult parts.

And after shooting at the school... "according to statements, a Uvalde Police
Officer on scene at the crash site observed the suspect carrying a rifle outside the west hall entry.
The officer, armed with a rifle, asked his supervisor for permission to shoot the suspect. However,
the supervisor either did not hear or responded too late."

Active shooter, ask for permission shoot the POS?! Entire thing could have and should ended right there.

    I can't deal.

No shit! If it was an active shooting at that time.

However it's to hard to judge what all unknown totality of circumstances the officer had to weight at that possibly very short window of time?

However asking for permission to shoot in such an incident seems off.

Surveillance video from the school, pretty hard to watch. A lot of cavalier cops considering what was going down. So many missed opportunities to end the nightmare.

Exclusive: Watch Uvalde school shooting video obtained by Statesman showing police response

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

The dynamics of the situation can change while an officer is relaying information to his supervisor. The officer should be able to make that decision on their own. Given the totally of the circumstances, he should have taken the shooter out.

Some people are micromanaged on a daily basis and under stress they can't make a critical decision.
