I don't really ever want to get in a gun fight or defensive use with my carry ever, I'm probably going to jail and my name will probably be drug through the mud, but I take on the responsibility of carrying that gun because I have kids, because I have a wife, parents and friends, and if anything ever happened to them that I could have prevented, that would be the ultimate tragedy to me.

We need to be realistic here.

Charging into buildings after armed psychopaths is very dangerous. There's a high chance a police officer who did this would be shot or killed. The public expects them to trade their lives for the lives of students and teachers? That's not what they signed up for. They signed up to do reasonable police work.

Then they should have gotten a job as a truck driver or fluffer on a porn set. If you aren’t willing to trade your life to save children, you’re a piece of shit. And anyone who thinks these cops were in the right, is also a piece of shit.

This is harsh truth. We don't honor our first responders because they drive vehicles with sirens, we honor them because they are willing to die to save complete strangers.

It is literally on the side of the many of the police vehicles and the motto of many departments that I've seen over the years. That means putting your life on the line to protect the lives of the innocent and to hold the guilty accountable. Many LEOs have paid the ultimate price doing just that:

Spot on. It IS the f-ing job. I lost count over the years where I went into a hot call thinking "oh crap this might be it, oh well", but never slowed down. It is part of the job.

Does Uvalde not have a SWAT team in their police department? I can’t imagine all those cops waiting outside hearing gun shots and screaming from the school and chose to stand down. Also, does any of the parent not owning a firearm? This is TX! if my kids are inside that school, I don’t give a F what the cops telling me, I will storm into the school saving my kids and everyone else.
