I think policing, like soldiering, used to attract mostly serious, stoic applicants willing to endure hardship to protect order against chaos. But if so, those professions are unlikely to appeal to social justice warriors. And if only SJWs need apply, you’ll wind up with an inadequate pool of unsuitable applicants trickling into institutions that spectacularly fail to deliver either on their ostensible mandate or on social justice, becoming instead dungeons whose occupants are in no mood to live together let alone do their jobs, under leaders unfit to inspire them to do either.

Agreed. I'm a product of Infantry OSUT and the Airborne School at Benning. As were two of my younger brothers. I have some very fond memories of that piece of Georgia. First time in my life with clean sheets, three meals a day, and nobody beating on me.

Just leave it alone. Tell them to pound sand...

Kinda surprised Franz Sigel, Carl Schurz, August Willich, Louis Blenker, Max Weber and Alexander Schimmelfennig aren't the names.

That history is a history of treason. The men those bases were named after were traitors who betrayed the United States.

Well, the US Navy saw fit to name two ballistic missile submarines the USS Robert E. Lee and USS Stonewall Jackson. From a class of ships named for "great Americans".

Benning will probably be renamed for Tank Abrams, seeing as how she's the first black woman to be president of the united earth, according to Star Blech: the Streaming Generation

Fort Bragg really should be named for an 82nd or SF MOH recipient. I would say all renames but one should be for MOH recipients. There is no shortage of MOH recipients of color, if that is a requirement.

I am in favor of naming one base for the first black GO, General Davis, but it needs to be a base with ties to him. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_O._Davis_Sr.

Or Shughart-Gordon (Delta MoH/Somalia), Howard (SF MoH/VN), Zaibotsky, Bank, Yarbrough...any number of excellent choices with very strong airborne/SF/delta heritage.
