Parkland SRO Deputy Scot Peterson trial

Apparently, charges for the SRO at Parkland who was on vid doing nadda are moving forward:

"A Florida judge ruled Thursday that a case may proceed against former Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, a school resource officer who was widely criticized after he failed to confront a shooter during the deadly massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018.Broward Circuit Judge Martin Fein denied a motion to dismiss 11 charges, including counts of felony child neglect, according to Peterson's attorney Mark Eiglarsh."

I'd thought he'd simply retired and even gotten his pension, so maybe, just maybe, one person in that total cluster will actually pay a price beyond simple loss of a job or demotion:

    In his own words:

For those who may be fuzzy on details, no matter how bad you think it was, it worse than you may know. This is the best write up I have seen and very good reporting and investigation of the time lines and events:

I thought this was over and done with??? How long ago was this and we still haven’t had a trial for the shooter/loser?
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

What if this whole crusade's a charade?
And behind it all there's a price to be paid

That would require accountability, I don't see it ever happening. He'll just work as a security guard.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Anything short of the gallows or a firing squad for this worthless pos is an injustice and insult to the students who were murdered.

Ironically, this is probably the worst possible timing for Peterson. I bet he and his lawyers thought putting things off for almost 5 years was gonna be a winning strategy. Now they are going to go to trial on the heels of of this fiasco which might highlight incompetent response by law enforcement even worse than the Parkland shooting.

We can only hope that makes for a jury with little empathy for LEOs who don't do their job at the key time they need to.

Even if he does get nailed, odds are it will get overturned on appeal.
