    6.5C Build finally Complete

Ordered most of the components last November but the billet lower was on backorder from Wilson Combat until last week.

All Wilson Combat sourced parts finished in "Burnt Bronze" not too sure I'm a huge fan of the color in person but wanted something other than black.

    - WC 6.5 Creedmoor, Super Sniper, 22", Fluted Stainless, Glass Bead, 1-8 twist Barrel
    - WC Billet Upper
    - WC Billet Lower
    - WC AR10 LPK
    - WC AR10 Handguard
    - G- SSA-E Trigger
    - WC AR10 RE Buffer and spring
    - A2 FH
    - Magpul CTR Stock
    - HK Battle Grip
    - MI scope mount
    - Vortex Diamondback 4-16x Scope Burris RT-6 Scope
    -Scope replaced with Burris RT-6
    - PSA Nitride BCG with dual ejectors (I know, PSA, but I wanted dual ejectors and options were limited)

Sighted in yesterday with 123gr ELDM hand loads, had some difficulty with the scope, so that may be changed. Fed and functioned flawlessly the entire session using both PMAG's and Lancer mags, ejection perfect at 4:00 and six feet.

Ended the range session on this three shot group.

Nice. Do you plan to shoot some heavier bullets? I heard the guys at Hornady favor the 143 gr bullet. 140 is our main pick with some other heavier stuff for fun.

    That's a nice looking rifle.
Seems to shoot pretty well too.

I tried that scope in 6-24, made it a couple trips then ditched it for an Arken 4-16

I just checked the powder cabinet. I have both 123gr ELDM and 147gr ELDM in stock but not loaded. These were 43.0 gr of H4350 and didn't shoot as consistently as my 762 handloads normally shoot. More work to do on the load which knowing me is only middle of the road and conservative.

My next run of 6.5C will be the 147gr as you suggest. Do you have a powder recommendation?

6.5cm took us an eternity to get results. I've had good luck with IMR4350 and the 147s. My powder lot is spicy, so I'm actually 0.3 under max now to give me a buffer for hot weather pressure spikes. 40.5 gr, I believe. I'm just running Hornady brass, Federal 210s (non match).

I don't even have my 147 load for H4350, but I was probably trying around 41.0 gr.

    Good looking AR.

I’ll be odd man out on powder.
I’ve run RL16 for 3 yrs. I’ve verified temp stability from 5 to 103 degrees.
We hunt in Winter with our 6.5’s and shoot steel Spring through Fall.
Had 3-8# jugs from same lot with 14# remaining.

We run 140 ELDM for steel/range stuff. My 22” Franken AR 6.5 runs 2720 fps with 41.8 grs. and the 140 ELDM
Couple 22” bolt guns are similar vel. and projectile at 41.5 gr.
Running 42.5 in a 20” gun (same vel) using Lapua SRP brass, with minor pressure sign/lightly flattened primers.
We have used 143 ELD X for hunting using same powder loads as above, but with Whitetail I’ve not seen much, if any difference between those and the 140 gr “Match” bullets in terms of terminal performance.
Accuracy in all guns is .5 to just under 1 MOA.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

You have to get an Atlas pod for this gun.

I like that idea Sir, thanks for the suggestion.

It will take quite a while for you to reach @Diamondback status at spending my money!

Nice build! How do the WC receivers fit together? Any slop, or are they pretty tight?

Nice gun, but yeah, Diamondbacks are ChiCom garbage. Personally, I won't get anything below the Viper series from Vortex.
    Gettin' down innagrass.
    Let's Go Brandon!
