They’ve been doing a version of the 642 with no lock for a bit. Mine is like 3 or 4 years old.

Are you sure the Pro Series has a PF tuned action? I’ve never seen that advertised for that model. The only unique feature I’ve seen advertised is the moon clip cut cylinder.

Yes, S&W has a few J’s w/out the lock —I have a few of them. My comment earlier was in reference to the K & L frames.

I have a very nice 3" 1/4 lug GP100. It is very accurate, soaks up recoil, and carries well. I would have no problem CCW'ing this.

I was mistaken, it does not have the PF trigger job. Oh well, hopefully it breaks in well after I pick it up.

That’s a great little gun. If only they would put an extra hole in the cylinder and take away the lock.

Btw, doesn’t that revolver come with a 3” barrel ?

Yeah it might be 3”, I was going from memory and didn’t bother to look at the box.

The best revolver for EDC is a Glock 19.

But if you must carry a revolver, carry three of them for New York reloads. I'm quite serious. A revolver will run dry in 3 seconds and you're out of the fight; there ain't no reloading in a short range shootout.

    Life is precious.
