We got a 30% raise 4 years ago. We have slowed down to one applicant and he is currently starting the academy. About to get another raise and guys are still leaving. It ain't all about money. The job sucks when the shitties you deal with over and over keep getting away with the same crimes.

I honestly don’t know why SPD has any Officers left. The ones I interacted with in the Battle of Seattle (1999) were absolutely disgusted with the lack of leadership from their chief. Sheriff Reichert was another matter, I was honored to meet him.
