    Barrett Rec 7 AR?

Anyone know how good or bad is the Rec 7 AR. I have a friend that is giving it a hard look so any feedback appreciated.

Is he dead set on a piston gun? Are they iftact still piston guns?

Seems like a lot of other stuff in the market to go for. Like a Geissele.

Here’s my opinion on piston guns. All these companies released piston guns trying to chase the HK416 success. At the time you could not buy a HK. Now you can. If you’re dead set on a piston just buy the MR556.

The DI Rec 7 is GTG. No idea on the piston one. I’m not even sure they still make those.

Just curious… What are they asking for it. There was a local ad for one at $3999 last week and now they bumped it up to $7999 stating it is “very rare”. It is a piston gun.

Never mind, I see the one your friend is looking at is DI.

Anyone know what the piston guns are fetching?

The DI gun is around $2k but he works at a gun store so he gets a solid discount.

Resale value may be worthy. Was trying to buy one but was never found. Sort of like the HK mr762, saw in stock for non reseller price and was gone in 5min.

My Buddy ended up buying the Rec7 but the DI sold so he bought the piston gun. Got for under $2k. He also got the one with the 18 inch heavy SPRish barrel. Should be a shooter. Range report to follow.
