Irons sight for bolt action rifle

    Hey ya'll,

I have a christiansen arms mesa in in 6.5 creedmoor that i would like to add iron sights to. Not exactly sure on all this would entail as this is my first time doing something like this. Number 1, I would like to keep the pic rail on the receiver for conventional scope mounting.
Number 2, for barrel mounted sights, I don't want express style, I would like something adjustable, similar to what I have seen on some modern muzzleloaders.
3, can anyone recommend a good smith that can do this type of work? This is well beyond the capabilities and tooling that I have

    TIA

You might find useful information on iron sights at the scout rifle forum (http://www.scoutrifle.org/index.php). Iron sights are a requirement for a scout rifle and those folks have put a lot of thought into the options. Gunsmiths familiar with related issues post there, too.

Awesome I'll give that a shot. I found a good backup sight that XS makes that attaches directly to the picatinny rail at the rear now its just findinf a good smith to do the front

These are my preferred front sights for builds. Any decent gunsmith should be able to install them. Personally, I go to Dennis Olsen in Plains, MT.

NECG carries beautiful goods. I have their banded front sight with an ivory bead on my black timber rifle: its a perfect match of style and function.

I like the look of the banded sights, I presume I would need the exact dimensions of the barrel contour from christensen arms before ordering.
