They can't do it...there is WAY too much proof of Trump saying to peacefully protest, Antifa changing clothes into maga outfits, Epps, Capitol police opening doors for protestors, etc. This committee is a ruse to attempt to keep him from 2024. They are TERRIFIED of him running / winning.

IT is the obvious political nature of the investigation and charges that makes it all the more likely that they will go ahead.

Every interview Ive seen from the committee members has used language like "if you ask me, there are criminal acts". I see this at work a lot when people call the police on things they dont like but know are not illegal. "If you ask me, spanking your kids is child abuse". Well I have yet to see "ask what Karen thinks" in the Arizona Revised Statutes. When people report actual crimes they dont really need to add a disclaimer that in their opinion it is a crime. They just state that the act was a crime.

If they had uncovered criminal acts they would have given them to the DOJ for an actual criminal investigation. I also think there would be some serious legal questions raised about the government putting everything on a multi part prime time show and then using that to criminally charge someone.
