They are using them in the PDW role. How are they using them in way I'm not awares of? It's not relevant to me regardless, and only part that applies to me as see it, is that SOCOM has concluded it's viable and chosen in the PDW role as i have. Beyond that, my recs/needs/wants don't match theirs, so a moot aspect, unless I'm missing something.

Agreed, but I would be interested to know more about the topic as I'm curious like that and maybe it will assist in future fiction writing etc. Thanx.

Is that white tail or pink?

    You mean not in a PDW role… but a training/sims role? 😂
Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succor of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till.

Why would they use a 300blk and 5.56 PDW for training and SIMs with no intentions to be used operationally? Not my lane, but that make no sense.

As you point out, 5.56 is prevalent and cheaper, so using 5.56 sims is perhaps with the additional barrel.

I can state for a stone cold fact, the ones being used in the wild are being used as .300’s.

Sure, but that does not explain the 300blk. Comment seemed obvious to me, both included in the SIMs/training comment, and that makes no sense.

Makes sense, and no doubt the option to go 5.56 easliy if needed also makes sense. Why didn't you mention you knew of a 5" PDW being used operationally by the fast movers already? Kinda would have reduced a lot of wasted time and effort here...

Do you have intel as how they are being used in the wild?

What cans are we using on SBRs and AR pistols?

.300BO operationally, 5.56 for training. Blackout has been used in small numbers for many years.
