If Ukraine falls, Poland goes nuclear. China makes a move on Taiwan, Japan goes nuclear. but at this point, I think the Chinese are actually planning on Russia disintegrating and then be able to take the eastern half of Russia. The Russians have been demagogue so much who gives a crap.

You can say that the Chinese are protected by the idea that you never wanna get caught in a land war in Asia, but the ancillary to that is, you don’t want to get into a naval battle with the United States.

I don't know much about Girkin but none of that comes as a surprise and is well supported by various sources. I tend to think the Russians can win simply the the ability to throw more men at it and absorb more losses, which his how the Russians have always won the wars they did. War is attrition and it's down to who can lose more men and gear and supplies for both, and continue to fight. The Ukrainians know that and why they know they need to keep the pressure on and keep the US/NATO believing they have the capability and moral to win to keep the flow of toys and $ flowing. If/when it becomes clear to the US/NATO Ukraine can't win, then the $ and toys will likley dry up, forcing Ukraine to the negotiating table.

I think the loss of human life on both sides in the next 6m - 1y, is going to be huge, 500k - 1M.

It may well be, but as Stalin allegedly said, one death is a tragedy a million is a statistic. One can read a news clip tomorrow, 2 million dead in ukie russia conflict, then go to Starbucks and complain their latte was hot instead of iced, that is the real trauma for their day; 2 million dead strangers on the other side of the world, irrelevent. A bit harsh, but thats the reality.
