Its just like Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan...
Vietnam- we gotta kill those evil vietnamese to stop the spread of communism. Then after 10 years of war and Gen Westmoreland insisting we and south vietnam is winning, the US pulls out and North Vietnam crushes them.
Iraq- 9/11 and the WMD hoax to go to war
Afghanistan- the war on terror (terrorism is a tactic, how do you have a war on a tactic?). The US builds up the ANA to fight ISIS for 20 years and then just up and leaves. Now we are supporting ISIS in Syria.
Now Ukraine- the US overthrows Ukraine's president in 2014 and has been funding the conflict between western and eastern Ukraine ever since. The only option the US has left now is eat crow or use nukes. My money is on the the US using nukes before November 2024 and of course blaming Russia. Don't be surprised if it's a US city.
Meanwhile Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth is planning to make an announcement about reinstating the draft to address the current recruiting shortfall.
China- we no longer live in a unipolar world. China and Russia are both nuclear powers whose economies can no longer be controlled by the US.
USA- we have the most incompetent administration ever that is doing more to bring about the destruction of our country while China and Russia just watch it play out as we spend our way into collapse. (kind of like the USSR did)

Putin has been far better for Russia while biden has been far more destructive over the last 50 years for America.

Fortunately we have family there and have a much better sense of whats going on than we would without their insights. They are educated and much more informed than most Americans especially historically. There is propaganda of course but it's a different variety than the US propaganda.

One thing many people don't understand is how bad daily life got after the collapse of the SU. It was a total collapse. One day you have a job/income, necessities, resources, and the next have nothing for the entire country for a prolonged period. That being said since 1991 people have seen/experienced everything in Russia improve far beyond even the best of the old SU days.

As for Mr. Putin, he is quite the anomaly for a leader of Russia in that he is a stoic, and has not only personally refrained from the typical corruption but attempted to reformed that style of government which has been no easy task and he has not been completely successful in this.

An interesting side note: A quite common observation among Russians is they see many similarities between where the US is now and where the USSR was just prior to 1991/their collapse and this is based on their access to social media, seeing what American cities and biden look like vs Russian propaganda.

As for the war from the perspective of Russians, they understand the US was behind Maidan in 2014 and the goal was to create the current conflict to weaken Russia with the ultimate goal of removing Putin. In other words hegemony. Of course there are deep historical divisions between Ukraine and Russia, but prior to 2014 they were actually on quite good terms. After Maidan, US backed western Ukraine began attacking the ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. Mind you these attacks were on ethnic russian civilians (there was no ethnic Russian military). These ethnic Russian areas eventually voted to become part of Russia for their protection. Then there is the NATO debacle.

Anyone that cannot see through what the US is doing is either just not paying attention or just drinking the mass formation psychosis koolaid like they did with the covid narrative.

I was very deliberate in choosing the words " refrained from the typical corruption". Far less than his predecessors.

But people crave and love having an enemy.

biden is by far a greater enemy to America than Putin.

Lauri Allan Törni (28 May 1919 – 18 October 1965), later known as Larry Alan Thorne, was a Finnish-born soldier who fought under three flags: as a Finnish Army officer in the Winter War and the Continuation War ultimately gaining a rank of captain; as a Waffen-SS captain (under the alias Larry Laine) of the Finnish Volunteer Battalion of the Waffen-SS when he fought the Red Army on the Eastern Front in World War II;[3] and as a United States Army Major (under the alias "Larry Thorne") when he served in the U.S. Army Special Forces in the Vietnam War.

Törni died in a helicopter crash during the Vietnam War and he was promoted to the rank of major posthumously. His remains were located three decades later and then buried in Arlington National Cemetery; he is the only former member of the Waffen-SS known to be interred there.
The issue in this case are the personnel who operated in Poland.

Prepare is 100% correct. The very reason Putin is so loved by the Russian people, is he cleaned up a metric ton of the corruption that took root after the fall of the Berlin wall.

He is also correct about XiDen, who has been compromised for a very long time. None of these politicians are getting rich making $130K a year. They're making money elsewhere, selling out the American people. Until WE deal with our own corruption, we should keep our mouths shut about Russian corruption.

Sweep in front of your own door first.

If you don't understand this, you need to check your level of brain washing.

Former PM Fico wins Slovak election

Former Prime Minister Robert Fico’s leftist-populist Smer party won Saturday’s election in Slovakia after promising to stop sending weapons to Ukraine, to block Kyiv’s potential NATO membership and to oppose sanctions on Russia.
