They're really giving those howitzers a workout:

"One-third of the roughly 350 Western-made howitzers donated to Kyiv are out of action at any given time, according to U.S. defense officials and others familiar with Ukraine’s defense needs.

Swapping out a howitzer’s barrel, which can be 20 feet long and weigh thousands of pounds, is beyond the capability of soldiers in the field and has become a priority for the Pentagon’s European Command, which has set up a repair facility in Poland."

How Exactly Could the Putin Regime Collapse?

    https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2022/...ollapse-a79451

Everyone, except perhaps Putin himself, understands that his regime is nearing its end. At the very least, discussions about the country’s future are being conducted in Russia as if neither Putin nor his system still existed. The question is: How exactly will the regime collapse?

For a long time, the hope was that elections would bring down the government, even though Russia hasn’t had real elections in at least 15 years. But some still hoped that even a small number of independent deputies might change the atmosphere within the country, while others believed that elections might overturn the regime. None of this is currently possible.

The Kremlin has made the situation impossible for nearly all opposition politicians, jailing them or barring them from running for office on preposterous grounds. The referendum to change the constitution and extend Putin’s reign endlessly showed even the most optimistic observers that the regime does not care what anyone thinks, and that if it excels at anything, it’s falsifying election results. Any election under Putin can only be a farce.

Russia's Wagner Group Sent Blood-Stained Sledgehammer To EU Parliament

    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/w...mmer-kr6tfr7vc

In response to last week's European Parliament vote to designate Russia as a "state sponsor of terrorism" - one Kremlin-linked official send a threatening message to the European body.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is the leader of Russia's most well-known and feared private security firm, Wagner mercenary group, says that he sent a bloodied sledgehammer to European parliament.

    Terrorist doing terrorist shit...

But people should read for context:

"The tool, packed in a violin case, is an unsubtle reference to the purported recent execution with a sledgehammer of a fighter from the Wagner group who had tried to defect to the Ukrainian forces."

I don’t get what that extra quote is supposed to add context, or change the meaning of the first part?
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

For me it did very much so. I read the first part as the hammer was sent as some sort of threat, which is was not.

It was to apparently show the UN the Ukranian's are acting in less than noble fashion also. Yet they wrote "...one Kremlin-linked official send a threatening message to the European body."

    What threat?

I don't have much empathy for the Russians, but to my reading, the first part was out of context totally as to the intended message sent.

    It's all propaganda BS anyway.

    A) Dude wants to defect, Wagner says hell no and whacks him with a sledge?

    or

    B) Dude defects, is picked up by Ukrainian soldiers, he states his intention and they say hell no and whack him with a sledge?
Yet it is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succor of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till.

    A.

The stunt was believed to be a sick warning that follows the atrocity that happened earlier this month when a citizen of Russia was brutally executed with a sledgehammer.

The man killed was Yevgeny Nuzhin, 55, who was believed to have defected to Ukraine but was reportedly kidnapped and sent back to the merciless Wagner group in Russia.

It is there that the Wagner thugs filmed the man‘s head taped to a brick wall and subsequently smashed in with a sledgehammer.

Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

I read it as B, but if A, then that would be a threatening message no doubt. If A, I retract my comments on that one.
