Ukraine and Russia both claim control over Lysychansk

Ukraine says its forces are enduring intense Russian shelling there but insists the city has not been seized.
However, Russian-backed separatists say they have successfully entered the city and reached its centre.
Russian media showed videos of separatist or Russian forces apparently parading through the streets.
Russian sources have also tweeted video of the Soviet flag allegedly being placed on the city's ruined administrative centre, but that has not been verified.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy denied Sunday that Russian forces have fully seized the last Ukrainian stronghold in Luhansk province.

The city of “Lysychansk is still being fought for,” he told a news conference with Australia’s visiting prime minister.

Russia claimed control of the city earlier Sunday.

They just declared victory over Lisichansk.

From looking at the videos of the US supplied weapons that the retreating Ukrainian forces left behind - Those guys must have been in a real hurry to get the heck out!

That is the the entire territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic gone from Ukrainian control now...

You act like they are in control of 99% of the country, they aren’t. In fact they control just a sliver more than they did before the invasion, and at what cost?

20 to 30 thousand dead soldiers, 1,000 tanks gone thousands more losses in other equipment... ships, cargo planes, fighters helicopters. Etc...

You act like Russia is rolling thru the Ukraine like we rolled thru Iraq, they ain’t... they’re getting their shit destroyed and soldiers killed by the thousands by a bunch of Ukrainian farmers we were told wouldn’t last 3 days against your much loved mighty Russian military.
