US Oil Drillers Are Running Out Of Spare Wells

By Natalia Kniazhevich, Bloomberg Markets Live analyst and reporter

As oil prices have climbed to around $110 a barrel, US producers have been restarting projects that had stalled.

They’re starting to run low on these extra wells, which could limit future domestic production. The number of drilled but not completed oil wells -- also known as DUCs -- has been shrinking for almost two years, and is now at its lowest level since the series started at the end of 2013.

The oil production process involves, at a high level, two separate steps: drilling and fracking. When a company drills a well it can leave it uncompleted, which happens when oil prices are low. That’s exactly what we saw during the early part of the pandemic.

When prices, like now, are soaring, companies complete wells and begin to extract crude. But with a limited number of DUCs left, drilling more oil in the US will involve tapping more new wells, a harder process for companies facing pressure to meet ESG targets and maintain capital discipline.

Your boy, Shitzipants, wants us all to believe it is 'Putins fault'.

Hair sniffing, pedo ass, pants shitting, borderline senile, dementia ridden, depends wearing, election stealing / vote rigging, war mongering, economy crushing, life long - compulsive lying, non-bike-riding, piece of bovine crap.

Corn Pop should have done the entire world a favor back in the day and made Brandon his bitch for a few weeks before selling him off to some Chicano's for a pack of smokes so he could then be THEIR bitch for a while.

That’s mainly on Federal lands. The company I work for gobbled up a smaller independent company and assets from a supermajor here in the Permian and sold a ton of assets on Federal lands in New Mexico, the problem is that, Eddy and Lea counties in NM which are mainly BLM lands produce like a mf’er, and that and offshore federal leases is what bye-den blocked.

The good news is that the same production exists right across the state line in Loving County, Tx.

The Permian Basin is now the 3rd largest oil producing region behind Saudi and Rossiya.

We may never really recover. Who is going to be crazy enough to invest in oil after this? Not just drilling, pipelines and refineries are massive investments.

Unfortunately it will probably be longer, you don't they will let someone slip in and undo all this.

Bidens first 4 years are only the start.

I posted this link in another thread- the EPA is trying to shutdown the Permian Basin. Why is anyone surprised? Punch Drunk Joe said from his basement while campaigning that he was going to eliminate fossil fuels and “transition” us to “clean energy”.

This is all part of the plan, The Liberal World Order, according to one of the administration’s economic officials. They are saying the quiet part out loud now because, well, what are we going to do about it? Vote them out?
