Good. The idea that someone could be locked up for possessing weed is absurd. I can't believe this country got of the prohibition train just to jump right back on with different intoxicants. Not only are drug laws obnoxious to anyone who believes in individual liberty, they don't even work! Nothing is dumber than an evil law that isn't even effective.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

I didn't find any contraband, but the dog alerted (I promise!). It must have been smoked earlier. You can pull your pants up. Enjoy your freedom citizen.

Yep. Violating constitutional rights is not good way to build community relations.

The CULTURE of policing call it proactive policing. When it is really subjugating the public.

This is communism at the heart.

So with most substances, when you impair judgement, you get more of what that person is about. And if they are already violent criminals, drugs tend to remove even more of this inhibitions. Not saying weed will turn an ordinary person into a killer, but those who already are generally don't become more passive under the influence.

Your average bong smoking basement dweller, again if he stayed in the house I wouldn't even give a damn. It's when I'm forced to interact with him in traffic and public. These laws are barely enforced so unless you just killed a car full of people in traffic, being under the influence almost never gets you arrested. Making it legal just lowers the bar and gives us more "derps" to deal with.

Move to Oakland, the police won't even respond to such complaints.

They should just legalize it in all forms.

The prohibition on drugs and the ensuring war on drugs has been a huge waste and had a negative impact on society.

We did it with alcohol and it didn’t work. Anyone who thought it was going to work with drugs is just plain stupid.

Personally I'd provide a place where EVERYTHING is legal, but you cannot legally leave until you are no longer under the influence. All forms of narcotics would be cheap and plentiful but you have to remain in your room until you are done and no longer impaired.

And if you never leave...oh well.
