That is different from my south florida experience. Undoubtedly alcohol is more frequently encountered as it is more easily obtained. That is kind of my point, if we get to where you can buy weed at 7-11 (or god help us opiates), we will have similar levels of concentration when it comes to abuse.

Some people can drink beer and it's just beer, some people can destroy their lives with only beer.
Some people can smoke weed and it's just weed, some people can destroy their lives with only weed.
I have yet to see anyone successfully manage recreational use of cocaine, meth or opiates.

Roger that, didn't mean to get prickly about it.

Frankly I am no big fan of stinky ass hippies and pot heads either, but I am unconvinced that they constitute any serious threat to public safety.

Huh? That is literally the compound in cannabis that causes the high.

I have no problem whatsoever with recreational use so long as those who choose to do so can manage to just do so in the privacy of their own home. Like alcohol, the problem really isn't the substance itself but those who simply cannot control their usage and behavior. I busted a few people over several years for mere possession and told them all the same thing. I'm not arresting you because you have/were smoking a joint. I'm arresting you because you were stupid enough to get caught doing it when I wasn't even looking for you in the first place.

Delta 9 is from the female cannabis. Delta 8 is from the male hemp plant.

When Delta 8 is concentrated it has the same medicinal effect as Delta 9.

Isn't Delta 9 THC the psychoactive component?
