I’ve testified in many jury trials over the years, both in District and Superior Courts (in WA). Never even heard of a grand jury though (other than Federal). I guess they’re still on the books but I’ve never heard of one convening.

The prosecutors generally cave and give them the deal they want to avoid losing in a jury trial.

I am saying the bad guys are using the trial by jury to drag the system out longer to get victims/witnesses tired of coming to court, putting prosecutor on edge since their job just got harder as they have to convince 7-12 people of someone's guilt. We have lost so many jury trials of sex offenders because of lack of physical evidence and they don't believe the victims, but winning dwi's like crazy cause most people hate drunk driving.

I have yet to see multiple charge conviction be ran consecutively instead of concurrent. They also use the time the clown spent in jail fighting the case as time served toward the sentence. I'm sorry but that is time spent while innocent and should not go toward the sentence time.
It kind of sounds like you've been in the system too long, and would probably be better utilized and served in a new profession?

Tell me about it... a full HALF my workload as mod on a politics chat comes from ONE snotty, immature little Millennial prick with a J.D. that the Admin won't let me give the boot-his-ass-right-to-Mars he so richly deserves.

There are several states that convene grand juries with Kentucky being one of them.

So what are those accused of sex crimes supposed to be sent to prison over if there is a lack of evidence?

Not big on dui stuff. In certain locales that seems to be more of an over reach/revenue scam than anything related to public safety.

Jurors have trouble using testimony as evidence and the prosecutor explains that in the jury selection. Not every case has dead to rights fingerprint evidence, dna samples, video footage, etc. CSI has made the common public think that stuff is everywhere. We even have the state crime lab reducing the types of evidence we can send in for testing due to extreme volume of stuff to test.i made 3 finger print cases in my career so far. One was a known bad guy where I got side palm prints off a car window where he put his hands to look in for stuff to steal. He then used the car antenna to break in. The other 2 were victims that had criminal records and came back on file.

The sex cases most times jury does not believe the victims verbal testimony and want physical evidence to back up their claims.

As it should be, right? Unless you have multiple witnesses it's just one person's word against another if there is no physical evidence.

Jury trials, the only place where "firearm information" is less reliable than gun store knowledge.

If I wrote down every piece of inaccurate firearm information presented as "evidence" in the Broward County courthouse, I could write a three volume series on firearms.

Vol. 1: Stupid shit lawyers present as "evidence."
Vol. 2: Stupid shit cops and expert witnesses present as "evidence."
Vol. 3: Stupid shit judges and juries accept as "evidence."
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.
