Might as well be. They mention that images are from x amount of billions of years ago after the big bang and that the spectrometer images show composition makeup of the planets atmosphere, etc which is the same O2 and carbon that our own bodies came from. Seriously? That's one theory. A very unproven one. Don't talk about it like it's plain fact. I'm all for this telescope and what it can reveal to us, that is awesome, but get rid of the bs assumptions.

Spectrometer readings are not BS assumptions. Maybe you should take some astronomy classes before you run your mouth.

Same for calculations on how old the images are. Red shift calculations give a good idea of how far away an object is, and which direction it is moving. Speed of light can then be used to calculate how long ago the light being emitted was that we now see.

    LOL!!!

Man you’re really gonna get your panties in a wad once you find out the JWST can actually detect artificial light and atmospheric pollution...

You did not comprehend my statement. I wasn't critiquing the telescope or spectrometer readings. It was the matter of fact statements about big bang theory and where we come from that is in question. It is an unproven theory at best. Tying facts to it like it is fact is garbage not science. You not picking that up might say something about you.

OK, so you’re mad about some verbiage.

I guess you must also be really mad that they’re gonna use their fancy new space telescope to test more hypothesis’s about said Big Bang theory?

Not mad at that at all. That's how it suppose to work. The other way...not so much.

    Well I agree with that.

Has it occurred to you that the press puke who is using incorrect verbiage probably took some liberties with what the science guys told them?

The production quality of this video is simply embarrassing. They better still have some competent people operating the JWST or it's going to have a short life.
