It's a good drill that I would have assumed I could shoot clean first pass and forget about. I reshot it on steel with my G22 and went 9/10. I still have much rust to remove on my pistol shooting.

For me, each individual shot isn't hard, the time isn't hard... it's stringing 10 good shots in a row without yanking any one of them.

    Sad, but true.

Everybody on the internet is a good shooter, until it’s time to post results.

The great thing about this drill is that it's not to easy, but it's also not too hard. Even if you're getting 10 hits, you can still improve to 10 A's, etc.

I finally got the chance to put my money where my mouth is. Not great results but not terrible either. We didn’t have a shot timer so we had to rely on our phone timers.

We were shooting an 8” round gong at 40 with a CZ P10C compact and Leupold Delta Point Pro. The best I got was 7/8 at the 15 second mark and kept going to 8/10 at 19.

Worse eyesight than last year for sure and I need to speed up. I was happy with the gear at least.
Do you even get down innagrass, bro?

That target is way too small, so your results are pretty good in my opinion. Hitting that target at 40 is one thing... not all that hard. But hitting it multiple times in the time given is a great deal harder.

Finally got a chance to get out and shoot it. With an injured support hand, using a Safariland G21 SLS holster that keeps locking up on my P80 frame, my draw times were incredibly slow. I don't recall what my first draw and fire time was, but the second time I ran the drill it was a 3.72!! For someone who is used to pulling 1 second times, the 3.72 time makes me want to cry. First, for using a holster (even for this drill) which was not designed for the weapon (and I know better), and secondly, regardless of the excuses the time could be slow enough to bake cookies. However, the point of this is to share, and I'm not embarrassed by posting sucky times. My end time was 14.85 totally cold after not shooting for a few months. Everything was shot on steel. The second time was 13.72.

One of the things about shooting a drill that you have never fired, and doing it totally cold is that it really lets you see you at your worst. I can run this drill a few more times, i can dry fire this drill a few more times, and I can polish everything up to get much better times, but only ONE TIME do you get to shoot it totally cold and not know how well you can do. Regardless of my injuries, regardless of my holster, regardless of anything else, my first time lets me know how I really did.

ETA- Hits on steel I believe were 7 or 8 on the first, and 8 on the second. I need to buy some paper and put it up, but I already own the steel, and its nice not having to clear up any of my ranges. Mrs Stick get irate whenever she finds paper or cardboard targets blowing around.

Yeah, my crappy eyesight isn't helping, especially when I didn't bother to wear my glasses....

Perhaps you'd like to trade eyeballs? :P (Uncorrected, my "good" eye can't read the sign on a handicap parking space from the other end of the parking space.)

This raises a good point also, if you're dependent on corrective optics it's a good idea to train on shooting without them regularly. They might get broken, you might not have time to grab them... any number of things.

I shot this clean yesterday with one hand (strong side) only. 11.42 sec if I remember correctly. This gun is like cheating though... and it's not my carry gun, but I did it.

Next goal is left hand supported, and finally left hand unsupported. PB shot it clean with a compact 9mm sig and full power critical defense ammo.
