    Gas port size reference thread

Might be useful to have this as documentation for folks building rifles or people experiencing issues.

Please post only examples as measured by you.

**Let’s try to keep it to just data please with no discussion.**

Approx manufacturing dates would also be helpful since they can change over time.

    From DD in Oct 2017

"Thank you for contacting Daniel Defense. Daniel Defense 14.5" Mid-length barrels have a 0.076 gas port size.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Have a good day.

May also be beneficial to note new or used (volume) status when measured

Bought a used Criterion Core 12.5. Unknown manufacture/purchase date but they’ve obviously only been out for a few years. Seller stated he only put 10 rounds through it for a function check. 0.625 gas block journal like all barrels in the Core line. John Thomas at RAW gauged it for me at 0.063.

    We just doing 5.56?

Two 7.62 x 39 barrels in recent builds

DEZ Arms - 16 inch CLGS with a .750 journal at 0.093 (runs great with an H2) - Purchased in July 2021
KAK -11 inch CLGS with a .750 journal at 0.078. This is way too small and I am going to open it up to 0.088 to start as soon as it arrives today. It's going into an SBR build.

Recently purchased a nitrate Sionics barrel from primary arms. I believe sionics stopped making these barrels in 2020. According to sionics, they stopped offering these barrels because most people were buying the CL barrels. 16 inch LW, ML, .625, pin gauged .075.

    Cheers, Steve
