    Broken CZ75B Firing Pin

I was cleaning my CZ75B yesterday and realized the firing pin protruding about .5 inches from the breechface. A disassembly confirms it is broken.

Do I replace it with another factory pin, or buy the extended tool steel pin from CGW and run a lighter mainspring?

    Thanks

    Andy

P.S. Not a known problem with the 75B and surely caused by excessive dry firing.

CGW extended FP would be my choice.

ONLY if you run a lighter spring.

Please educate me. What would be the benefit versus a factory spring?

With an extended FP, you can run a reduced mainspring - this provides a lighter pull - which is very important in DA. You need the extended FP to make up for the reduced impact on the primer. If you run a full strength mainspring with an extended FP, you risk primer piercing which is a bad thing.

That makes sense. I carry mine cocked and locked, so I guess that I wouldn't benefit much, but thanks for the information. I know others have the decocker model or thumb down the hammer to carry with the safety off.
